ENGL 3140: Editing for Publication

Final Portfolio

I enrolled in English 3140 as a test of my copyediting methods and skills. I include my Editing Portfolio in my catalogue as a demonstration of my progress, as well as a meditation on what I am personally suited for outside of researched essays and rhetorical analyses.

English 3140 is structured as a college-to-career course – meaning that each assignment and every lecture relates to skills we will carry directly to our careers. This artifact contains every deliverable of the semester, as well as a critical reflection on my work. Looking back on my contributions to the class publication, [TITLE NOT FOUND], I feel as though I did not receive the full publication experience. My partner for Issue One did not engage with me during the writing of my article, so I did not get to go through the process of revising my own work with a personal editor. However, through reflecting on the entire course, I see a change in my understanding of copyediting. Artifact Six demonstrates a personal growth and a comprehensive application of real-world rhetorical skills.
