ENGL 3135: Visual Rhetoric
Final Project: A D.I.Y. Activism Plan & Visual Analysis of an Interface
English 3135 acts as the study of modernized rhetorical forms. Such forms include, digital platforms, infographics, and advertisements, all of which we used visually analyzes through modern rhetorical theories, like rhetorical looking.
The Visual Rhetoric final project covers the theories of rhetorical looking and assesses existing interfaces and online dialogue surrounding an Atlanta-based issue regarding either transportation or housing. I wrote on the problems of Georgia State University’s commuter population, how Georgia State approaches those problems, and how the commuter population discusses their problems online. This assignment presented me with the opportunity to write about something personal. It also gave me the chance to understand memes as the transmission of information and opinions. Overall, Artifact Five is a discussion of modern rhetorical forms, and it approaches the issues of Georgia State’s commuters from a critical perspective.
